Chechen leader Kadyrov in hospital with coronavirus “| Abroad

“Ramzan Kadyrov was brought to Moscow by plane,” writes Russian state news agency TASS, citing a medical source. Other media also write about the hospitalization of Kadyrov, who is currently 43 years old. The leader would be in a stable condition. Moscow has not yet responded to the news.

Chechnya is an autonomous republic in southwestern Russia. The region, which is predominantly Islamic, fights for independence. Kadyrov has been President of Chechnya since 2007.

“Provocateurs and terrorists”

Kadyrov is known for its tough approach, including the coronavirus. For example, he called doctors who complain about too few protective equipment “provocateurs.” Kadyrov calls people who do not isolate themselves “terrorists” who he believes should be buried in pits. The Chechen president has been in charge of the area for years.

Kadyrov is not the first politician to be admitted to Russia with the corona virus. For example, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin became infected in April. Russian President Putin’s spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, also got the virus.
