Realizing that the farm has run out of hay, the man posted an ad on the Internet that he wants to buy hay. The seller responded and agreed on a price for 13 rolls of hay, each of which will cost 12 euros per piece. Must settle immediately.

Juris received the invoice and paid it immediately. Also paid for delivery – 45 euros. The invoice also states the date when the purchase should be received – September 16.

“A person asked me to transfer 201 euros. But I still haven’t received the delivery. I don’t know what to do. My hay barn is empty and I have no money. An invoice was sent. Now, after examining it more closely, I conclude that the invoice does not indicate a registration number and that such an LLC does not exist at all.

I gave my mother’s pension last, because I have no income myself. No bills paid, nothing. We got crazy.”

Portal LA.LV also contacted the hay seller to find out when Juris will receive the hay rolls, but received an angry answer: “What hay? The money will be returned to him on Monday. I don’t understand what he fantasizes about here. On Friday, the money didn’t come and that’s what all the conflict is about.”

The transaction took place on Friday. Juris transferred the funds from his account to the bank specified by the seller. However, it turns out that this bank processes only those payments that have arrived by 16.00 If the payment is made after the specified time, the money will not arrive in the person’s account until the next working day, which in this case meant a two-day wait. The hay supplier promised to return the money to Juri, but so far this has not happened.

“I wrote to them that I would contact the police. To which they ironically asked me if they should call the police and warn them of my arrival. Such blatant mockery. And then they also wrote that they sympathized with me.”

Juris believes that he has been cheated. The money has been paid, but the delivery has not taken place. He went to the police, but the man was not heard there and the application was not accepted either. A person in despair – how to act in such a situation and how to feed the livestock?

Portal LA.LV asked the opinion of the Consumer Rights Protection Center. What would be the right course of action in such a situation, if the money has been withdrawn, but due to the bank’s specific operation, one of the parties involved in the transaction will not receive it immediately. In addition, the person who wants to receive compensation for the product has to wait two holidays until the money reaches the account.

The center states that those involved in the transaction should discuss this issue and agree on how the product will be delivered. Either when the money is deposited into the bank account, or when it has been paid out and this payment is confirmed by a bank document. It is best to complete the transaction in writing, in a contract. Then disagreements can be resolved through court.

Juris hopes that the hay seller will be honest and give at least the money so that Juris can fully take care of the livestock on the farm.
