The Government of Venezuela denounced this Thursday before ambassadors that the electoral records released by the anti-Chavez movement are false and they intend to “ignore the results” of the presidential elections, in which the electoral body ratified Nicolas Maduro as a winner, a victory questioned inside and outside the country.

The largest opposition coalition, Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD)published on a website “83.5%” of the electoral records that, they insist, show the victory of their candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutiasomething that the Venezuelan Government dismisses as “forged documents.”

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the vice president Delcy Rodriguez He stated that the domain of this website “was purchased one day before the elections and is not an official mechanism to proclaim elected officials,” which usurps “the functions of the National Electoral Council (CNE)“to create confusion about the actual results of the election.”

29/07/2024.- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro celebrates after learning the results of the presidential elections this Monday, in Caracas (Venezuela). Maduro, in power since 2013, asked this Sunday for “respect for the popular will” after being proclaimed as re-elected president, after an election in which he competed against nine contenders, including the standard-bearer of the majority opposition, Edmundo González Urrutia. However, many Venezuelans who have acted as members and witnesses of the polling station claim to have checked the results on this platform and have confirmed the veracity of the data, after reading the QR code.

According to the government, this “barbaric and unprecedented fraud” has generated “violent implications”, referring to the post-election protests across the country against the result announced by the CNE, in which more than 2,000 people have been arrested for causing, among other things, damage to various public institutions and other sites, which entails “crimes”, according to the Venezuelan authorities.

This Wednesday, the Carter Centeran observer of the presidential elections invited by the CNE, as a reliable entity, stated that it has analyzed electoral data that confirm that the winner of the elections is the opposition candidate González Urrutia and not Maduro – as several countries agree – something that the Government described as a “coup d’état.”

Venezuela’s Attorney General’s Office announced Wednesday an investigation into the website where the majority opposition published the presidential election results for “conspiracy” and other crimes.

Eleven days after the elections were held, the CNE has not published the minutes certifying Maduro’s victoryas indicated by the legal regulations, and left the process of “certification” of the official result in the hands of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), at the request of the president.
