ChatGPT / Upgrades and gets access to current information

Returns the temporarily removed model

ChatGPT’s knowledge will not be limited to its original training data arriving by September 2021, as it will now be able to browse the web and access up-to-date information.

It is recalled that in May OpenAI had made available a variant of the GPT-4 model that had this function, but in July the beta function was disabled, since it was found that ChatGPT could also read content that is normally available for a fee and is protected by Copyright.
OpenAI confirmed that the problems of the previous implementation are now a thing of the past, since the AI respects the rules of each website, interacting with it as it defines.

The official announcement:

“ChatGPT can now browse the web to provide you with current and valid information, with direct links to sources. No longer limited to data prior to September 2021. Since the initial rollout of browsing mode in May, we’ve received helpful feedback. The updates include respecting robots.txt and detecting user agents so that websites can control how ChatGPT interacts with them.

Browsing is especially useful for tasks that require up-to-date information, such as helping AI with technical research, trying to choose a bike, or planning your vacation.

Browsing is available to Plus and Enterprise users today and will be rolling out to everyone soon.”

Of course, the big “but” for most is availability, since this new model is available exclusively for ChatGPT Plus users. This is the company’s subscription service, which charges $20 per month.
