ChatGPT AI answers questions about Bitcoin and Ethereum

ChatGPT is a so-called AI chatbot that managed to rake in more than one million users within a few days. ChatGPT comes across as very human and the possibilities are endless with what you can use the chatbot for. In any case, the internet has quickly become fascinated and the chatbot has now also answered some questions related to the world of cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin and Ethereum

To the first question, whether Bitcoin (BTC) has intrinsic value, ChatGPT responded as follows:

Some people might argue that Bitcoin’s decentralized nature and its ability to function as a digital store of value could be considered intrinsic value.

The answer reflects the view shared by some of Bitcoin’s biggest proponents that it is “the digital gold” of the 21e century, thanks to unmanipulable monetary policy.

When comparing Bitcoin to the number two by market cap, Ethereum (ETH), the chatbot indicated that Bitcoin is often referred to as the digital gold. It also said that ‘it is the main thing use-case offers an alternative to traditional fiat currencies, such as the US dollar or the euro.” In contrast, it described Ethereum as having “more potential for innovation than Bitcoin”, which would make it more attractive to developers.

When asked if Bitcoin would ever become the world’s reserve currency, the bot did not rule out the possibility. While it still lacks the ”infrastructure, regulation and stability” to be considered as such, it is still ”possible that the future will bring changes to this situation” as the technology grows and develops.

”How is Satoshi?”

When asked who is hiding behind Satoshi Nakamoto, even ChatGPT was unable to provide an enlightening answer. He said the identity is “undisclosed and not publicly known.” He also referred to Craig Wright, among others, who in October lost another lawsuit that makes him not officially Satoshi Nakamoto:

“While some individuals have claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto or are suspected of being the creator, none of these claims have been independently verified.”
