At the time of filming, it is still two and a half months until the opening of Code Rosé. The building is still a major ruin. This time the Meilandjes focus on the bedrooms. Maxime remarks in one specific room that “if you were to have sex here,” they’ll hear it in the other room.
To check, Maxime mimics a rough sex by banging on the walls. “That’s bad,” she giggles. “You have to fill it up,” she suggests in terms of sound deadening. “Or you have to put up a sign with ‘sex’ and then cross it.” Or, she continues: “‘Are you already divorced? Then this room is perfect for you’.”
A little later, Martien, Erica and Maxime go to test beds at a bed shop. Martien in particular appears to be extremely critical in this area. For example, he loathes soft beds. “I like this nice and hard. I like hard,” says the B&B owner when he is lying on a mattress.
When they consider the colors of the beds while enjoying a sausage roll, Martien comes up with a remarkable point of interest when it comes to children’s beds. “I would do that in a dark color, possibly with vomiting. Children throw up very often. Do that blue.” “You always puking,” Erica laughs.
Chateau Meiland can be seen every Monday at 8.30 pm on SBS6 and you can look back here.
This is how Martien reacts to the criticism about the prices of Code Rosé:
