It turns out that Martien and Erica were involved in the conspiracy. They provided a romantic dinner – in the ‘assistance house’ – for Maxime and Leroy. For a moment, Maxime seemed to catch her parents snatching the grocery receipt and seeing that salmon had been bought. Fortunately, Martien and Erica are good at lying.
Finally, Leroy stands at the door of Maxime’s temporary shelter. He then declares his love for her. “I want to say that I think you are an incredibly cool and good mother
.”

After a deluge of kind words, that one special moment has arrived. Leroy gets down on one knee in front of Maxime in the traditional way. “Will you marry me?” he asks, to which she immediately answers ‘yes’.
The viewers at home enjoy the romantic moment en masse. “I wish I had a guy like Leroy,” someone wrote on Twitter. Others find it ‘sweet’ of Leroy. Some even shed a tear. “I’m crying along,” said one emotional viewer.
