With the new chat themes you can tailor your WhatsApp conversations to your liking. Whether you prefer subtle or colorful, there is a design to suit every taste.
This is how you activate the chat topics
- Update WhatsApp Beta: Make sure you have the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android installed (from version 2.24.21.34)
- Open settings: Go to Settings and select the Chats section
- Standard-Chat-Design: Here you will find the option to select a new chat topic
- Adjust: Choose from a variety of pre-made themes or create your own design with custom colors and backgrounds
What can you customize?
- Chat color: Customize the color of your speech bubbles and add a personal touch to your chats
- Background image: Choose from a variety of background images or use your own photos from your gallery
- Intensity: Adjust the intensity of the background image to find the perfect look
If you can’t find the feature, it may be because Split View is enabled, which is particularly optimized for large displays. Disable this option to make the “Default Chat Theme” menu item visible.
