Actor Kim Hyun-jin is challenging a new realm as an actor, leaving behind his career as a promising vocalist. Because of this, Kim Hyun-jin prepares more thoroughly than anyone else. In order to become one with the role she is given, she is going to find various ways of her own. She is also the energizer that keeps the atmosphere of her set alive, as she gets along well with her staff when it comes to filming. She supports actor Kim Hyun-jin’s wonderful challenge.
hello. Please briefly introduce yourself.
hello. I am Kim Hyun-jin, a new actor who is currently working hard to be active as an actor while studying at Seoul Institute of the Arts majoring in acting.
What do you think is the charm of an actor?
I am really bad at repeating the same things with the same people in the same place, but I think the job of an actor has the charm of being able to experience various jobs with various people in really diverse places. I think the moments of living as a person other than myself are breath-taking and thrilling.
What are your strengths as an actor?
Concentration and authenticity? I think I do a lot of preparation first. It’s a bit of a worry doll. So I practiced a lot, and I think it took a very long time to think, think, and prepare for even the smallest details. Because of that, the concentration displayed at that moment is very high, and I put my heart into it when approaching the character. Even if it is a fictional character, in the drama, there will be a time that the character lived and there must be various things that he has experienced in his life, but I think I deeply and sincerely think about that time and experiences. That’s why I don’t have a lot of acting experience, but I think the roles I’ve played can resonate with the viewers. I think being honest and putting your heart into it is the most important thing. In fact, I think this is an advantage that should not be lost in the future.
Also, I don’t think the energy runs out on set. Even though I was nervous and tired, when I went to the set, I was extremely excited and my energy started to come out, and my confidence in myself increased. That’s why I don’t think I get tired well on set. I think that’s the best thing I have as an actor.
On the other hand, what do you think is lacking as an actor?
I think setting the bar too high for myself is the worst part. I think I’m the most strict with myself. People can make mistakes in their lives and there are so many moments when things don’t go their way, but I think I hurt myself too much when things don’t go the way I thought. So I guess I’m trying a lot to alleviate it. It’s not like this is harming others, but I think there are too many moments that I can’t take care of myself because I’m trying to be perfect by my standards. I think an actor has to be flexible to protect himself. I am trying to control my mind to become a flexible actor.
What is your most memorable shoot? Or tell me an episode.
For me, the scene of a short film I shot a while ago is the most memorable. In fact, I sympathized so much with that character. The first scene I shot as soon as I went was a scene where I was holding onto my mother’s urn and crying, but I was so worried. Just before I went in, I asked my mom to send me something I would like to say to my daughter when the moment of death comes. Instead, I asked them not to say my name, but to send it under the name of the character. I don’t think I should look at it right before entering, so I’ll look at the diary I wrote before entering! As soon as I did it, I saw it right away and went in. I did four or five real takes. I think I cried a lot without needing to worry. It’s something I’ve never imagined, but I thought it would be really painful if such a moment came someday.
In fact, every moment of the shoot was memorable. Even though everyone must be tired from filming in the early morning, the scenes of me holding my breath for that child at every moment left me with quite strong memories.
Did you do commercials too? Please tell me what kind of advertisement it is
It wasn’t a commercial advertisement, I only modeled for soymilk commercials. Vegan food is all the rage these days. An acquaintance of mine launched a soymilk brand, and at that time, he said that my image looked pretty healthy, so we took a picture together to be featured in an advertisement.
What do you think is a good ad?
I think a good advertisement is an advertisement that makes people sympathize with people in everyday life, rather than making people curious with stimulating material. It’s over once the questions are resolved, but I keep thinking about the things I sympathize with.
What’s your favorite ad?
I liked the KCC Switzen commercial that actors Kim Nam-hee and Park Ye-ni shot. There were so many scenes that expressed everyday and real reality properly. Rather than just saying that we like this kind of apartment and that kind of thing, our apartment is just a place where people live. A place where you can rest comfortably even when you are really tired and tired. I think it was very memorable because it was a commercial filled with the smell of real people.
What commercial would you like to do?
Actually, I want to take a few different shots. I want to shoot an advertisement with a story like a KCC Switzen advertisement. And I hear a lot about how good my skin is. Even with a little care, my skin seems to glow a little better. So, I want to do cosmetics commercials.
Also, in fact, I work hard. No one knows if I like sports, but as someone who enjoys sports, I would like to do a sportswear commercial. Also, I’m moderately tall, and the clothes usually look good on me, so I want to do a clothing commercial.
This may be funny, but I’m a big enzyme fan. My digestive system is a bit weak, so I try this and that from my friends and recommend it a lot. My teeth are quite straight. So I thought I could do a really good job with dental ads.
It seems to me that this is just a story that I want to do everything. I am confident
What is Hyunjin’s charm?
I think my charm is my honest and easy-going personality. When people first look at my external appearance, they say that I’m very picky and difficult to approach, but I’m actually easy-going. I laugh a lot and stay calm, but sometimes I act strangely, but in a way, I think my charm comes out more in front of close people. What’s interesting to me is that I’m quite shy, so if there are few people I know at a gathering, I’ll be quiet. But when we get to know each other well, I think we talk a lot and have a lot of energy. What I always feel is that people seem to like it more when I honestly reveal it as it is than when I try to decorate that photo. And it’s honest about emotions and is subtly simple. If you’re happy, how happy you are, if you’re sad, how sad you are, if you’re tired, how tired you are. I really can’t pretend I’m not. I think those kinds of appearances are rather genuine and attractive to the other person.
If so, where are you confident?
There are quite a few things I am confident about. I think my parents passed on a lot of good things to me. First of all, I think the bridge is a million dollar bridge. This one was handed down to me by my father, and it’s long and sturdy. and skin. My skin is also inherited from my mother, and it has good elasticity. I got a burn on my leg not too long ago, but I’ve heard so many people say that I have healthy skin that makes me gain weight quickly, and that my skin is good wherever I go.
But in fact, I like all parts of me. In the past, I only saw the downside. I had a lot of dissatisfaction with myself, such as why my nose looks like this, I wish my eyes were bigger, and why my waist is so short. As time goes by, I think about it again. Could being different from others be a charm? When I thought about doing it, all of my flaws seemed pretty. So I like everything I look like.
Baking is my hobby. What makes it the most delicious?
I’m good at making vegan bread. I actually sold non-biscuits at my mother’s shaved ice shop. I’m not vegan-oriented, but I really like vegan bread. Vegan bread is bread made without refined sugar, flour, animal dairy products such as butter and milk. Since my mother was in the early stages of diabetes and I love bread, I thought it would be nice to make some healthy bread myself. I made a little bit at home, but it’s very delicious. So I did one by one and sold them at my mother’s store. I woke up at 6 in the morning, baked my arms and sent them to the store for the day, and I was preparing for the acting exam again. ah! All of the popular breads were actually popular, but chickpea mugwort crumble and rice morning bread were really popular.
Please tell us about your future plans.
I will not hesitate to move forward with the opportunities given to me. I always thought I wasn’t ready and took a step back. There is no one who is perfectly prepared. I think I have to move forward to know if it’s something I can do or not. I don’t think I have any desire to do great things right away and become famous quickly. I want to walk this path steadily and steadily for a long time. In the future, I plan to live a busy life by worrying and working hard to become a good actor, working hard at the given work, and resting well.

The whole world has stopped for almost three years due to COVID-19. If it’s short, it’s short, if it’s long, it’s a long time, but I think that time has had a lot of impact on our lives now. I think the before and after have changed a lot in all aspects. People’s inclinations have changed a lot, the way they enjoy media and content has changed a lot, and I think it’s a difficulty that has arisen as many things have stagnated and changed. But we also live while worrying, changing, and growing. If you live hard with the hope that a better part can grow in this difficulty, wouldn’t a good day surely come?
