Great progress but still a lot to do
He has undoubtedly made the fight against painhuge progressbut it still remains still a lot to do support those who are suffering in the best possible way.
Whether physical or psychological, chronic and / or end-of-life, pain must be considered and relieved not only by specialists but also by society as a whole. Everyone is worried: a person who suffers too much risks closing in on himself and isolating himself. With no longer being able to ask for help, he may lose his zest for life.
Even specific suffering at the end of life “is not a fatality,” the collective believes. Recognized as a right by law, palliative care helps alleviate physical pain and mental suffering of the patient and to accompany him and his relatives.
The collective Relieve but not kill
Relieve but not kill is a collective promoted by Philippe Pozzo di Borgo that brings together health professionals and citizens. Mobilized for the relief of pain and against therapeutic relentlessness, the collective is fighting for the generalization of a true palliative culture and is clearly opposed to euthanasia and assisted suicide.
#Still alive
Also very involved in the debate on end of life by demonstrating against euthanasia, the collective wants to make October 18 “a day of exchanges and meetings so that the fight against pain and the deployment of palliative care throughout France are a priority for everyone”.
Volunteers from the collective will be present in nearly seventy cities.
