Two Chartrains will be summoned to court on October 17 for theft aggravated by two circumstances, in a meeting and with degradation.
On February 27, 2022, around midnight, residents heard noise in their neighborhood of La Madeleine, in Chartres. They reportedly saw two people break into a parked van. The duo allegedly stole briefcases containing tools.
In police custody, they deny the facts
One of the witnesses dialed 17, giving the alleged thieves’ direction of flight and the type of vehicle they were traveling in. A police patrol intercepted them in downtown Chartres. The search enabled the police to discover the loot.
The two Chartrains, aged 21 and 38, were taken into custody. They would have denied the facts during their respective hearings. They were released with a summons.
The briefcases were returned to the owner.
