Francine and Patrick Violas’ cry for help has been heard. Barbara Pompili, Minister of Ecological Transition, and Marc Fesneau, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of relations with Parliament and Citizen Participation, visited this afternoon, Friday, March 5, 2021, at La Tanière zoo-refuge, at Nogent-le-Phaye (Eure-et-Loir), near Chartres.
The opportunity for the couple of enthusiasts to present their project. The den save the laboratory animals, circus and recover the seizures of justice. A team of professionals takes care of these survivors, who are treated on site.
The den was to open to the public in spring 2020, but the health crisis linked to Covid-19 decided otherwise.
The zoo-refuge can be visited and the sale of tickets should cover the operating costs, faced with the crisis, it is all the zoo-refuge treasury that is weakening.
–€ 360,000 in emergency state aid
At the end of her visit, Barbara Pompili announced thatemergency state aid, taken from the funds of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, was to be granted for La Tanière, up to 360 000 €.
La Tanière goes through the holes in the racket, you were supposed to open from the spring of 2020, so you had no declared turnover before. No one should be left out, and you have the support of the government in this project.
The Minister also praised the work of the 52 employees who work every day to “give a better life” to the rescued animals.

Aid that will allow Patrick and Francine Violas to cover the costs of operation of the zoo-refuge.
We still have a lot to build. With everyone, we’ll get by. The public follows us and the call for donations continues to be relayed.
Now, the Violas couple are waiting for only one thing: that La Tanière can welcome visitors. Asked about the reopening of these outdoor establishments, Barbara Pompili did not wish to “make projections”.
