Police reinforcements are expected next night, from Monday July 18 to Tuesday July 19, 2022, in the agglomeration of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), reveals today Republican Echo. These additional security forces must in particular ensure the restoration of public order in the neighbourhoods.
Police and firefighters attacked
Jets of fireworks were observed last night, at Madeleine in Chartres, around 2 hours, according to our colleagues. These disturbances were allegedly caused by a dozen young people and caused fires to start.
On the spot, the firefighters and police dispatched would have been threatened with mortar fire.
The evening of the National Day in Mainvilliers
This is the second “agitated” night in less than a week in the Chartres conurbation: the night of July 14 was also marked by events of this type in Mainvilliers and in this same district of the city- prefecture of Eure-et-Loir.
