After a long questioning about a potential cancellation, the Foulées roses de Chartres began this Saturday, October 17. An edition made possible thanks to the very strict sanitary protocol put in place by the organizers, following discussions with the prefecture of Eure-et-Loir and the City of Chartres.
“We are all concerned by the disease”
A particular context that did not cool the 1,200 walkers present for this first day. “It’s important to come to an event like this,” explains Catherine, participant and cancer patient. “Especially since this year, I was able to come with my husband. Indeed, for the first time in the short history of the Pink Strides, registrations were also officially open to men. Eddie, Catherine’s husband, confides:

In the procession of the participants, if some are directly affected by the disease, others are confronted with it in another way: “I came with my colleague nurse”, specifies Nadine. “We have been around the disease for many years. We also lost loved ones because of her. We are all concerned. “
This Sunday, more than 1,000 participants must walk (masked) in the streets of Chartres for this second day of the Pink Strides, organized by The Republican Echo. A special edition, but the message remains the same for everyone: support the fight against cancer.
