CHARTRES/ My blood for others at the Marceau show: more than a hundred bags collected
This is the work of the members of the Rotary Club of Chartres and the EFS, helped by those of Rotaract, the ACEF, the Chartres Métropole blood donors association, with the participation of the league against cancer , which enabled the success of the blood drive on Friday in the Marceau lounge at city hall where 102 bags of blood (488 ml each) were collected, enough to satisfy the volunteers.
Doctor Pierre Rouveroux, in charge of this operation at the Rotary Club of Chartres, underlines: “we are happy with the result of the Rotary operation – My blood for others – this year, more than a hundred donors came today to give their blood, everything went smoothly thanks to the mobilization of everyone, in particular, the four doctors, three nurses and the EFS staff,” he indicated.
Among these donors of the day, Romane Piron, a 26-year-old from Chartrain, she confides while a nurse is setting up a transfusion, “I started donating since I was 18, I discovered donation thanks to advertising sports on television, and I have never stopped donating blood, especially since I am a midwife, and I know the importance of having blood reserves in medical establishments to come helping those who need it,” she declared.
The young donor was received by Mégane Emmanuel, a nurse from the EFS, she specifies: “we check everyone’s abilities before donating, everyone can donate every eight weeks, a period necessary for the blood to be able to return; we can give four times a year for women and six times a year for men” indicates the nurse.
