Chartres MHB Resumption of Training for the 2023-2024 Season: New Faces, Intense Workouts, and Preparations for Competition

The holidays are over. After a disappointing exercise, finished in 13th place, the C’Chartres MHB got back to work, this Friday, July 21, at the Bas-Bourgs stadium.

Even if three young people from the training center had joined the collective (winger Naël Tighiouart, already seen with Chartres in Starligue, goalkeeper Tom Dufour and center half Amine Ben Salem), it was complicated to find the new faces, during this resumption of training.

It must be said that fourteen of the sixteen pro players present already wore the Chartres colors in 2022-2023. They warmly welcomed the only two recruits, Serbian goalkeeper Milan Bomastar and PSG winger Valentin Bzdynga, in a general good mood.

A few jokes flew. Nice spikes (rather unjustified) on the weight of some who could have abused during the holidays too…

In Brittany and Dordogne

There were smiles on their faces at the time of the reunion under the orders of Nebojsa Stojinovic, who is making his first preparation in a role of main coach after taking over from Toni Gerona in April, and assistant Amor Khedira. But there was also sweat.

After the traditional measurement – weight, height and fat mass using an impedance meter – the Chartrain group left for the banks of the Eure for a 30-minute jog at a moderate pace. Sheathing and strengthening exercises followed.

“We are starting slowly, it is a gradual recovery to get the bodies back on the road”, announced Amor Khedira. Race and muscle work, it’s the same fairly digestible menu that awaits the Chartrain group this Saturday. But the program will then be much heavier.

On Sunday, the CCMHB will head to Dinard, on the Emerald Coast, for an intensive five-day course. Quick, the first matches will arrive. On Friday August 4, Chartres will thus reveal itself to its public against Angers (D2).

During trips to Brittany, Saint-Malo and Brest, and in the Dordogne, to Boulazac, the Euréliens will play a total of seven preparation matches. This will be an opportunity for Nebojsa Stojinovic, supported by the former coach of Nantes and Aix, Thierry Anti, as an adviser, to put in place his principles of play.

Then the time for the competition will come. First the Coupe de France with a round of 16 at Pontault-Combault (D2), on August 29. Then the championship with the reception of Montpellier during the opening, on September 8th.

The real launch of a season during which the CCMHB could show the Coliseum, the new sports hall and show in Chartres. To be up to it, it’s now that it starts.
