Today, a great team surrounds the business manager: “there are five people in manufacturing and four apprentices, in the shop, there are three of us, and two apprentices”.
“Make young people want to do this job”
The training of apprentices is one of the baker’s priorities.
I really want to pass on the craftsmanship, and the relationship with customers, which is essential. With this program, our role is also to make young people want to do this job.
The “TV” adventure begins with a call to the bakery. Marlène remembers: “I was going for a race, when an employee quickly caught up with me, it was M6”!
Customers had registered the business in Chartres on the issue. A suprise for the baker!
I did not expect it at all, I accepted almost directly! One of the bakers is still watching the show. We had a little pressure, we had to show the best of ourselves!
The shooting days: “a second Christmas”
The film crew arrives on August 28, 2020 at Chartres, “At 7 o’clock, the shop should be niquel”. “Norbert and Bruno arrived and spent the morning with us, they gave us advice, they are really caring people”.
The next day, direction Maintenon castle, for another day of filming, this time with the ten bakers selected in the Center-Val de Loire region.
It was like a second Christmas for us, because we had to juggle the time. May the store be impeccable, continue to serve customers and ensure the shooting … The show was a unifying element for our team!
The bread presented by Marlène for the show: the Sarasin Crown, “A gourmet bread, with Sarasin flour and a mixture of figs and apricots”.
