“Let everyone vibrate around Paris 2024”. The objective is clear for Karine Dorange, vice-president of Chartres Métropole in charge of Major Equipment and José Rolo, deputy mayor of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), Sports delegate. The city and the agglomeration have just received the Terre de Jeux 2024 label, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Thanks to this label, for three years, the cities and communities involved will be able to develop more actions and events around sport, to promote the Olympics, as a relay to the population. to bring the emotions of sport to life.
Multiply sports activities
“From now on, we must be both a driving force and a partner in the associative world, supporting them with our equipment and our material on all events,” underlines the elected representative.
Actions around sport will therefore develop and intensify, by 2024, in Chartres and in the metropolitan area, with, for example, Wednesdays in summer. Each place in Chartres will host sporting challenges such as badminton, athletics, boxing, tennis, basketball, tennis and rugby.
On the other hand, it will be necessary to unite citizens around sport, “to build a lasting legacy”, notes José Rolo.
Schools mobilized
In the schools of the city and the agglomeration, the activities will have a central place, and the communities will try that a greater number of establishments obtain a label. Generation 2024.
A dynamic must be driven by young people, that as many people and structures as possible be sensitized around 2024.
Note that in Chartres, sport matters 10,000 licensees, and 180 clubs supported by the municipality.
