CHARTRES – International Organ Festival: Thomas Pellerin

Originally from Charente, Thomas PELLERIN works the organ with Olivier Vernet, Jean-Luc Étienne, Éric Lebrun and Johann Vexo, and at the same time studies the harpsichord with Françoise Marmin in Angers. He completed his training at the CNSMD in Lyon where he brilliantly obtained two masters in organ and basso continuo in the classes of François Espinasse, Liesbeth Schlumberger and Yves Rechsteiner.

He is the Laureate of the Grand Prize Jean-Sébastien Bach of the city of Saint-Pierre-les-Nemours (2007), of the international renaissance organ competition of Saint-Julien-du-Sault (2013), of the Joseph-Bossard competition- de-Bellelay (2013 – Switzerland), as well as the organ springboard of the city of Bolbec (2013).

He is at the origin of the construction project of the Italian-Renaissance organ of the Saint-Cybard church of Pranzac in Charente and is the founder and artistic director of the Festival “Au Gré des Arts”, whose first edition took place in 2011.

He has already performed as a soloist in numerous prestigious places and festivals (Festival de La Chaise-Dieu, Toulouse les Orgues, Festival de Lanvellec, etc.). Thomas Pellerin regularly performs as a continuist in several ensembles (La Fenice, The Furious Arts, Artemandoline).

In 2013, he participated in the creation of Gabriel Marghieri’s work, “Many Night Without Rest” in the company of composer and actor Francis Perrin.

Thomas Pellerin holds the Certificate of Aptitude as an organ teacher as well as a master’s in education. After having taught organ and harpsichord at the Conservatory of Roanne, he has been teaching organ since 2016 at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Angers.

Thomas Pellerin has been titular organist of the Dangeville / Cavaillé-Coll / Beuchet organ at Saint-Maurice Cathedral in Angers since February 2018.
