This is the first female duo of the “student referents” of the Youth Information Office of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), Eva and Colette succeed Lucas and Anissa and Lauren and Bastien. For the past few weeks, the two young women have been responsible for supporting young people in the agglomeration in their daily lives or their projects.
To break with isolation
These “student referent” positions were created following the confinements caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, mainly to help students break their isolation. They are funded by the Center Régional Youth Information Centre-Val de Loire.
In Chartres, the duo conducts interviews and stays in higher education establishments and at the Youth Information Office.
“Going abroad” workshops, meetings on the theme of health, partnerships, the missions of Colette and Eva are diverse.
Events, everyday hassles
“We are contacting the Student Offices and we hope to be able to help them set up more festive activities now that the health situation seems to allow it”, explains Eva, 19, who has just completed an internship at the Youth and Sports department of the City of Chartres.
The two young women can help students with administrative difficulties, “to apply for housing assistance, if some are in financial difficulty, we have contact with the Restos du Cœur for example”, she continues.
Their objective: “to go as far as possible to where the students who need us are”.
And on the projects of the Chartres youth
Beyond the accompaniment in the hassles of daily life, Eva and Colette can work on individual projects or in groups with the young people of the agglomeration of Chartres.
