Only a week after their combined success in the French cross-country championships at the Masters 0 (35-39 years old) in Les Mureaux (Yvelines), Sylvain Dodé and Julie Chuberre-Dodé once again made the powder speak, this Sunday, in the Grands-Pres.
Winner of the 10 km at four-minute intervals, the couple licensed in the Free Run achieved their goal. Ticket validated for the “France” of Boulogne-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais), on April 9th. Just like his wife, Julie Chuberre, just as relieved as she was smiling: “After the efforts at Les Mureaux, the state of form was a bit random, I told myself that we were going to go there by feeling. In the end, it was pretty good, even if following a group of young people at the 6th kilometer probably took me over the 34′ mark (34’02)”, indicates the young mother of a little Zoé, overjoyed at having regained her pre-motherhood level.
In the genealogical tree of the Chuberre-Dodé family, ask for the big brother. A few minutes earlier, Loïck Chuberre had won the 5 km (in 15’15), almost without forcing. For a long time in the fight with the promising Brieuc de Kersabiec (Aclam), the thirty-year-old made the difference in the last hectometres: “Since August, I have had a series of calf injuries. There, it was a bit of my recovery race. It’s been four weeks that I’m pretty much quiet and I’m enjoying it. There, I race with the youngster (from Kersabiec). I waited to see if he could accelerate after the 4th kilo, but he didn’t,” confided the eldest Chuberre.

On the same distance, in the women’s category, we expected a takeover of the youth. It arrived well with the victory of Camille Rebour, who, unlike his partner at Aclam, could not find an old veteran to outdo him: “I had missed out on Les Mureaux (beyond 150th place when she was aiming for a Top 30). There, it’s a little revenge, I’m happy: I really wanted to win, ”notes the female winner (in 19’15). Only a junior, the specialist in tactical races did not have to use strategy, alone from start to finish: “I had time to ask the spectators if the girls who were following me were far away or not”, confesses- she.
The 10 numbers to know
A public which, despite the glorious weather, could not salute the fifth victory of Saïd Lazaar on “his” half-marathon. The member of the Passion running du Perche, winner for the last time in 2018 at the Grands-Prés, did not lose his unbeatable smile: “Less than 1h12′ (1h11’58): it’s a great performance. I did not do any specific preparation on the semi. It’s even the first one I’ve been competing in for a while”, details the Nogentais, preceded on the line by Nicolas Valentin (Orsay), announced as the man to beat in our columns and winner in 1h09’51: “Chartres, c is a discovery for me. I found the course very enjoyable. In terms of the race, I stayed with Saïd for a long time, but he stalled around the 14th km. As far as I’m concerned, I tried to keep my cruising speed until the end, ”analyzed the Essonne, at the end of the effort.
The favorites of the 24th edition
In the women’s category, Dominique Thierry was not on the shelves of forecasters. And for good reason: at 52, the “young” member of Antony only started athletics three years ago: “In athletics, you can progress quickly. I think that my victory is a message of hope in these troubled times”, noted with great accuracy the number 999, the only woman to have passed under the bar of 1h25 ‘(1h24’58).
