Chartres: disturbed by the health crisis, the Salon des associations moves to the Butte des Charbonniers

This year, no podium, dancers, activities or demonstrations at the Salon des associations: “It will look like a Christmas market”, laments José Rolo, deputy mayor of Chartres in charge of sports and community life .

The 2020 edition had gathered between 2,000 and 3,000 people, but the elected official has no illusions about the one that takes place this weekend. Another shadow on the table: the withdrawal of some associations. The reason ?? The requirement to have a health pass, which can hold back some volunteers.

“It pains me a bit for the living room”

“It pains me a bit for the living room,” reacts José Rolo. Even if the elected official understands the position of volunteers, it is obvious that these new measures will particularly change the face of the event, “yet a must for the start of the school year”.

City technicians are finalizing the setting up of the Salon des associations, on the Butte des Charbonniers.

Before opting for the Butte des Charbonniers as the only meeting place (a first), the City of Chartres had planned to install the stands on the Boulevard de la Resistance, as well as the places Châtelet and the Épars, as d ‘habit. But these places being part of the route of the anti-sanitary pass demonstration, which also takes place this Saturday, these sites were finally discarded in favor of the mound.

If the site does not have enough space to set up the usual activities, it nevertheless has the advantage of bringing together all the associations without interruption in the circuit.
