The property damage unit of the Chartres police station believes that it has solved a vehicle theft case committed in March 2020, in Chartres. A van had been stolen from a catering company.
Fifteen men tried in Paris for cargo thefts which would have earned them more than 3 million euros
DNA traces
The van being equipped with a “tracker”, it was found a few hours later in a barn in Beauvilliers. But no trace of the thief. The Chartres scientific police found DNA traces, but the man did not appear in any file.
The suspect, involved in another case, has been flagged in the files. Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the police therefore placed this resident of Villages-Vovéens in custody. When heard, he would not have been able to justify the presence of his fingerprints on the steering wheel and the passenger compartment of this van.
He is summoned to court on October 6 for this burglary.
