The Chartres court sentenced a Perche breeder who left several of his cows to starve to death. This sixty-year-old even left the corpses of animals to rot in his meadows. About 25% of its 90-head cattle are said to have passed through there. Its license to collect milk had already been suspended. The judges finally decided to take away all of his cows and permanently ban him from owning any. He will also have to pay 300 euros for each dead animal found on his land. The farmer did not even show up for his trial.
