Around Fionia

PL: I got to the marina early, around 1pm. Check-in is normally from 4pm. But the yacht is ready so no problem, I can pick it up immediately. Very nice. Quick formalities, no surprises.
Taking over the yacht. The person who gives it to me doesn’t really know the boat. We come to autopilota, and here you are amazed, it cannot be started. The technician on the quay says, “the autopilot is not working”. And that is the end of their worries. We’re sailing without autopilot.
Another unpleasant surprise. The anchor is on the rope, there is no chain, and there is no windlass. Pretty unexpected for a boat of this size. It is similar on the neighboring yachts from this company, so it is not a coincidence, but a practice that I do not understand. After leaving the port, it will turn out that the wind strength and direction indicator is also not working.
Apart from that, everything works very well. Sails without a problem, but you can see that the owner does not check them systematically. Broken crawler, unscrewed shackles. The refrigerator pulls with the last of its strength, i.e. refrigerant gas. The rest is faultless. After all, the yacht is 11 years old.
The route around Funen – as in Denmark, the shore is always visible, green fields, lots of ports. The weather was fine. Peace and quiet, no crowds.

Nice trip, great handling in the marina, slightly damaged yacht
– verified by September 15, 2021
We had a great week on the Baltic Sea, the handling in the marina was very easy and pleasant. Despite a small damage, the return was very easy.
Our Bavaria 51 Cruiser was somewhat used for her age (2009), but sailed well. All in all a good onete Charter.

Danish South Seas a dream

The charter port was somewhat hidden behind a large hall. The takeover of the boat was uncomplicated. Shops 150 m away. Good sanitary facilities and bread service 🙂
The next trip is practically booked. As far as Corona allows.

Denmark is always good.

We had a Hanse 325 – which you could tell was built in 2013 – and we went to Gedser first. Pickup and return were very easy. Kudos to the crew. Nysted can be recommended. And Kühlungsborn used to be more idyllic. It was a nice 14 days

Worse weather than expected.

The boat was perfect, however the management of the charter company is disorganized. Although they have a good group of subcontracted professionals who are the ones who manage everything for you in port.
Thanks to Laura (Globe Sailor) who has been a luxury link, a great professional.
