Police received a report from an 89-year-old woman at around 12:00 on Thursday (1st), who said she had received a call from a man claiming to be her nephew, claiming to be involved in a felony case and was arrested and asked the reporter to hand over HK$100,000 bail. The other side pointed out that a friend would come to the door to collect the bail money. The reporter contacted his family for verification and learned the truth, and immediately reported the case for help. Fortunately, there are no been property losses.
The Yuen Long Police District found two boys behaving suspiciously near the informant’s residence in Tin Shui Wai at around 4:00 pm the same day. Police believe they are linked to three similar cases totaling around HK$110,000. The two were arrested for investigation, and the case was handed over to the Yuen Long Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. The investigation continues, and it is not excluded that more people will be arrested.
