A major photography exhibition on Charly García is coming to San Martín and can be visited at the Ballester Municipal Cultural Space from September 7 to October 27. A broad agenda of cultural activities will accompany the exhibition.
The exhibition, “Charly’s Angels,” is made up of photographs by Nora Lezano, Andy Cherniavsky and Hilda Lizarazu, artists and friends who portrayed the great Argentine musician at different moments of his daily life.
The exhibition is organized by the Municipality of San Martín and the RAF Gallery and can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Vicente López 2946, Villa Ballester.
Andy Cherniavsky and Nora Lezano were present at the inauguration, and there was a tribute show to Charly by the local band, Medio loco.
The exhibition will be accompanied by many activities and workshops. For example, this Wednesday, September 11, at 6 pm there will be a meeting to listen to García’s new album, “La transparencia del escorpión.” On Friday the 13th at 7 pm they will organize a jam and open microphone so that those who wish to share and perform their favorite songs by the musician. On Saturday, September 21, the tribute will be led by visual artists Teresa Buongiorno, Emiliano Raspante, Nicolas Nieto, Alberto Grammatico and Ariel Menniti, with the participation of Julio Sevald as guest photographer and curator. That day at 7 pm, the Municipal Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to the artist.
On Saturday, October 12 at 6 pm, there will be a talk entitled “Writing to García”, in which Roque Di Pietro, Luciano Divito, Daniel Rera and Fernando Sánchez will speak. In the afternoon, at 7 pm, there will be a “Collectors’ Meeting”, a meeting to share objects, collections and experiences.
In addition, Hilda Lizarazu and Lito Vitale will give a concert in tribute to the greatest exponent of national rock at the closing of the exhibition, on Sunday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. with free admission.
Throughout the seven weeks, there will be photography workshops, musical events, talks, seminars, artistic interventions, among other activities that can be consulted on the website of the Municipality of San Martin.
