The musician Charly García received days ago and at the age of 69 the first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus, as confirmed by his surroundings in Tlam.
The news became important as a result of a message published on the official Twitter account of the vaccine produced by the Russian institute Gamaleya, in which they celebrated that the national rock cone has been inoculated.
The Sputnik V tweet shared “its magic” with a video of the song “Speaking to your heart”, belonging to the 1986 album “Tango”, the first that Garca recorded together with the singer and multi-instrumentalist Pedro Aznar, with whom he shared training in Ser Girn.
On May 30 of last year, the musician had been admitted to the Argentine Institute of Diagnosis of the City for a high fever and respiratory symptoms, but through the corresponding swab and the other tests performed by the doctors it was quickly established that it was not about Covid-19.

Now, Charly’s name is added to the list made by journalist Maxi Martina in his “Unofficial Registry of Rockerxs Vacunadxs”, in which there are already national figures such as Indio Solari, the bassist Vitico; Willy Quiroga, founding member of Vox Dei; and the bassist Alejandro Medina, a member of Manal.
Also featured on the record are the singer-songwriters Marilina Ross and Teresa Parodi, the guitarist Ciro Fogliatta; “Lefty” Roizner, current drummer for Kevin Johansen; and Juan Carlos “Black” Amaya and Carlos “Machi” Rufino, partners with Luis Alberto Spinetta in Pescado Rabioso and Invisible, respectively.
Other Argentines linked to the musical world who have already received the vaccine against Covid-19 are the lyricist Pipo Lernoud, the keyboardist Leo Sujatovich; “La Mona” Jimne, Billy Bond (who made it in Brazil) and musician and composer Lito Nebbia.
Internationally, the record makers confirmed that musicians Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Brian Wilson, Patti Smith and Brazilian drummer Rolando Castello Junior have already been inoculated.
