Faced with decimated Wolves, the Jazz did not fall into the trap and won 128-116 by shooting at 53.3% including a 16/39 from far with 20 points / 17 rebounds / 4 blocks from rudy Gobert, 28 points from Donovan Mitchell, 18 points from Bojan Bogdanovic and 17 from Mike Conley. Deprived of KAT and ANT, Wolves tried to hang on, but they gave in on an 11-2 late in the first half from which they never recovered despite 33 points from Malik Beasley.
The Bucks, despite the absence of Giannis, continue their march forward by winning against the decimated Mavs in Texas 102-95. They relied on a trio Khris Middleton (26 points to 8/14 and 7 assists), Jrue Holiday (24 points to 8/14 and 8 assists) and DeMarcus Cousins (22 points and 8 rebounds). They recovered well from a series of 15 failed shots in the first half and managed their last quarter well.
Charlotte, in full, dominates Denver with a huge last quarter won 38-13 to go back 19 points in the second half. They can thank PJ Washington, author of 3 big 3-point shots at the end of the game to equalize then pass in front. 6 Hornets finish with at least 12 points, including 23 for Kelly Oubre Jr .. Opposite Nikola Jokic tried everything with 29 points and 21 rebounds, but 13/34 shooting.
Despite the absentees and a wasted 19-point lead (32-18 in the 1st quarter then a 33-19 cashed in the 2nd) the Hawks came out 98-96 against the Sixers (16-16, 7th in the East) in Philadelphia with a Bogdan Bogdanovic author of 10 of his 15 points in the last 3’44 of the match. The Serb had missed his first 10 shots. Joel Embiid (23 points at 6/17, 10 rebounds) missed a shot from 6 meters to the buzzer. Cam Reddish finished Atlanta’s leading scorer (15-16, 10th East) with 18 points at 7/13.
Miami for its part validated its comeback when receiving the Pistons with a 115-112 victory carried by Tyle Herro (29 points to 11/21, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) and Max Strus (26 points to 10/18). The latter, on his 5th 3-point of the evening 40 seconds from the end, widened the final gap. Cory Joseph had the opportunity to equalize from a distance 2 seconds from the buzzer but he missed and Udonis Haslem grabbed the rebound. Miami, led by up to 14 points before halftime, passed 112-110 ahead on a 3-point from Herro who came to conclude a 7-0. Bey (23 points) had equalized behind before Strus’ dagger. Kyle Lowry finished 21 points for the Heat. Opposite, Trey Lyles beats his career record (28 points) in vain.
