Charlotte Roche returns surprisingly – visibly changed

“So, how are you today?”

A question that is actually an everyday question – and yet in this case it is not exactly that. Quite the opposite. With these six words, Charlotte Roche (46) reported back to her fans on Instagram on Saturday afternoon (October 12, 2024) – after a break of around four and a half years!

Charlotte Roche reappeared after years of radio silence

Her previous post on the social media platform is dated April 24, 2020. At that time, she said goodbye to the relationship podcast “Paardiology” (received the German Podcast Prize in the Newcomer category in 2020), which she had successfully run together with her husband Martin Keß.

At the time, no one could have guessed that things would become very quiet around her.

Because in the meantime she hardly appeared. She did not appear on TV or on a live tour. That could change now. In any case, the new posting raises the hopes of her fans.

One thing is clear: Roche has visibly changed. She got a tattoo next to her right eye, probably a reminder of a loved one. The letters RIP can be seen; they stand for “Rest in Peace”. The name underneath cannot be read in the Instagram photo.

As are a series of doodles on her torso. Only individual places can be deciphered. “Ashley Molco,” for example, is the name of a French artist. What does that mean? Unclear. It is possible, however, that Roche will clarify the matter in the coming days. Also striking: the blue-green and pink streaks in her bleached hair. In 2020 she said goodbye with a brown mane.

At that time, shortly before the end of the podcast, it became known that Roche had not only dreamed of sex with another man during his relationship with Keß, but had also put it into practice. And yet they said goodbye to their fans as a loving couple strengthened by crises.

Charlotte Roche first became known at the end of the 1990s as a presenter on Viva2. Her debut novel “Wetlands” (2008), which became a bestseller, also caused a stir.
