Charlotte Police Arrest Fourth Suspect in Murder of 22-Year-Old | What’s up people

Charlotte.- A 17-year-old young man was arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and charged with the death of 20-year-old Zion García that occurred on August 21, 2020. This is the fourth arrest that has occurred in this case.

The arrest occurred on February 17, 2021, by the CMPD Criminal Violence Detention Team and after questioning he was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

The minor was charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police had previously detained Nyla Burnett, 18, Jalen Meggett, 22, and Jahmel Williams, 28.

The crime

On August 21, 2020, at 5:24 p.m., Hickory Grove Division officers responded to reports of a shooting near 7008 Albemarle Road. When they arrived, agents located an adult man with an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Valero store. It was about Garcia.
