Mecklenburg County offers $25 for those who receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and for whom they lead.
Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH) is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to offer Summer Cards of $ 25 to help pay for the time and transportation needed to get the vaccine.
$ 25 for COVID-19 vaccine recipients
The eligible people include anyone over the age of 18 who:
- Receive your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J) at a participating COVID-19 vaccine site
- O carry someone to receive their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at a participating COVID-19 vaccination center
Only the non-commercial carriers they can receive a gift card. A carrier may not receive a gift card if they receive one compensation for the ride, for example, if you work for Uber, Lyft, or a taxi.
Carriers must provide a round-trip to and from the vaccine site. They must also initial an attestation record and be accompanied for the person who received the vaccine.
The drivers cannot receive more than one gift card per trip, even if several people are transported during a trip.
Vaccine recipients or drivers of the second dose are not eligible and the recipients or carriers of the vaccine 17 years or younger are not eligible.
