On the occasion of her youngest daughter’s 9th birthday, Jo, Charlotte Gainsbourg published a whole slew of souvenir photos on Instagram.
The time flies ! 9 years ago, on July 16, 2011, Charlotte Gainsbourg gave birth to her third child, Jo, at the dawn of her 40th birthday. The little girl joined the siblings of Ben and Alice, 14 and 8 years old at the time, all born from the union of the actress and Yvan Attal. Usually rather discreet about her private life, Charlotte Gainsbourg shared with her followers several photos of his daughter Jo, Thursday July 16, when the latter celebrated her 9th birthday. On the first, we can see a large table on which are arranged balloons and cut letters forming the message “Happy birthday Jo”. Then follow several shots of the younger, sometimes baby, the painted face, sometimes older, in a series of black and white photographs.
On the latter, it is impossible not to notice the striking resemblance between the girl and her mother. Soft face, mischievous look and brown hair, it looks like a copy and paste of Charlotte Gainsbourg at the time of “L’Effrontée”, released in 1985. In the film, the actress, then a few years older than Jo, seems to be the teenage version of her daughter. Already in May 2020, Yvan Attal’s partner had shared a snapshot of the girl lying on the beach. Without delay, Internet users had then all underlined the resemblance between mother and daughter. “A little Charlotte lying on the beach!”, “Incredible resemblance, it really looks like you at 16!”, “She looks like you Charlotte! And it’s not even a portrait!”, could be read among the comments.
Charlotte Gainsbourg: Alice and Ben, their elders in the spotlight
If Jo’s photos are rather rare, the public has already seen the two elders of the Gainsbourg-Attal clan. Indeed, Charlotte had posed alongside her daughter Alice for a Comptoir des Cotonniers campaign in 2016. As for Ben, the eldest, he is used to cameras since he has repeatedly accompanied his parents during official events , like the Yves Saint Laurent fashion show in 2017 or the Angoulême Festival in 2019. Not to mention his small appearance in his father’s film, “My Stupid Dog”, released the same year.
