Teen Golf Sensation Charlie Woods Makes Hole-in-One at PNC Championship
The PNC Championship in Orlando, Florida, witnessed an electrifying moment as 15-year-old Charlie Woods, son of golfing icon Tiger Woods, scored his frist-ever hole-in-one during the final round. This amazing shot propelled his father-son team into the lead of the prestigious tournament, which features 20 major champions paired with family members.
Charlie’s remarkable achievement came on the par-three fourth hole. “It was a perfect seven-iron, so just kind of hit it,” he recounted to the Golf Channel, adding with a grin, “It was awesome. I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anybody until I go up there and see it.”
But the excitement didn’t end there. Approximately 30 minutes later, another young golfer, 21-year-old Paddy Harrington (son of three-time major winner Padraig Harrington), also aced a hole – the eighth – marking his own first career hole-in-one. The elder Harrington expressed his pride, stating, “I’ve never hit a shot and been that excited before.”
The Woods duo finished the first round tied for the lead in this PGA-backed exhibition. This tournament marks Tiger Woods’ return to competitive golf following his participation in the Open Championship in July. The 48-year-old legend is clearly enjoying the experience of playing alongside his son, witnessing firsthand the young golfer’s burgeoning talent.
The PNC Championship continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of family fun and world-class golf. This year’s tournament has already provided unforgettable moments, showcasing the next generation of golfing talent and the enduring legacy of the sport’s greatest players.
