celebrities Six years ago, Charlie Sheen (58) pressed the pause button to tackle his drug and alcohol addiction by the horns. Now he has been sober for several years, happy again and ready to pick up the thread again. “But I’m not building any wild fantasies yet,” said the actor in ‘People’ magazine.
It was necessary for Sheen to step out of the spotlight. He has publicly struggled with his alcohol consumption and drug use since the 1990s. His addictions, which led to unpredictable behavior, ultimately led to his dismissal from the hit series ‘Two And A Half Men’ in 2011. “For a while there wasn’t much in my life to complain about,” it sounds now. “People were really happy when I showed up and sad when I left. That went away when everything went to hell,” Sheen continues. “It went to ‘Oh God, here he comes’ and ‘Is he gone? Good.'”
Six years ago, Charlie felt it was time to sound the alarm, so he took a step back. During that break, Sheen focused on his drug and alcohol problem and on raising his twins Max and Bob (14), whom he shares with ex Brooke Mueller. The actor gradually got used to a new “predictable routine”, but now itches to return to the spotlight.

Charlie is looking forward to finally building a good reputation again. “I’m completely ready for it,” he says. “For a long time I had the best work reputation. I was the first to arrive, the last to leave and when in doubt, I even overprepared. I look forward to being that man again.”
Charlie has actually already made his comeback. He is featured in two episodes of the series ‘Bookie’, in which he appears as himself. It is striking that the actor is once again working with Chuck Lorre, the man who fired him from ‘Two And A Half Men’ all those years ago. Not long after his departure from the series, Sheen called the producer a “clown” and “turd”.
No big fantasies
More than a decade later, he is still ashamed of his behavior. But Lorre was ready to forgive Sheen. “Chuck reached out and said, ‘It’s time to put it behind us. It’s time to hug each other and remember the great things we’ve done together.” And so the two ended up on set together again, a warm reunion after the public feud.
It is a rather small-scale return for the once beloved actor. But Sheen is taking it easy and doesn’t expect anything big for the time being. “I remain completely neutral. I’m not building up any wild fantasies about where this will lead. I’m just enjoying the moment and if this brings new opportunities then great.” And if it isn’t? “Then maybe I’ll just create the next opportunity myself.”
