Charlie Bird, former RTÉ broadcaster and motor neurone disease patient suffered a “bad fall” during a walk on Sunday, requiring him to visit St Michael’s Hospital in Dún Laoghaire. Despite the fall, Bird managed to avoid any broken bones and praised the “fantastic” medical staff who attended to him. The 73-year-old remains hopeful about meeting Brucie and will participate in the charity walk Darkness into Light on Saturday. Bird took to Twitter to update his followers about his condition, and thankfully, he will still be able to participate in the event.
