Charlie Bird suffers another “bad fall” update on health after incident

Irish journalist Charlie Bird has suffered another “bad fall,” he announced to his supporters on social media. This follows a recent incident in which he injured his face but thankfully didn’t break any bones. Bird took to social media to thank medical staff and frontline workers for looking after him during his latest fall. He also extended “the hand of friendship to all our great medical workers who look after all of us so well every day. You are heroes.” Supporters were quick to send Bird messages of love and wished him a speedy recovery.

Bird had recently accomplished a bucket list item by meeting Bruce Springsteen, who was holding concerts in Ireland. He expressed his gratitude to all those who made the meeting possible and said he was “completely stunned” by Springsteen telling the fans that he was singing the song “for my friend Charlie Bird.” Bird explained that the meeting happened due to the “amazing support” he had received from people all over the country and ended with a message of love: “I love you all.”

Bird has a long and distinguished career in Irish journalism, having worked for national broadcaster RTE for 33 years until his retirement in 2012. He specialized in foreign coverage and reported from many conflict zones around the world, including Somalia, Iraq, and Bosnia. His work has been recognized with numerous awards.

Since retiring from journalism, Bird has continued to be active in public life. In 2015, he stood as an independent candidate in the general election but was not elected. He has also written several books, including his memoir, A Day in May, which charts the historic 2015 Irish referendum legalizing same-sex marriage.

Bird is a beloved figure in Ireland, known for his warmth and approachability. He is often seen walking his dog Tiger in his hometown of Greystones, County Wicklow, where he lives with his wife Claire Mould. His supporters will no doubt be hoping that he makes a full and speedy recovery from his latest fall.
