Charles was the guest of 8/9 for his first EP, Falling While Rising. The 20-year-old Belgian artist performed his title Without You live and commented on the publicity she enjoys in New York, her track co-written with Hooverphonic for Eurovision.
Charlotte forest alias Charles won season 8 of The Voice Belgique coached by Matthew Irons of the group Puggy.
Charles presented his first EP to you: Falling While Rising. An autobiographical project that deals with important and deep themes with real messages. This is already the case in the 1st extract, Whitout you, a ballad on emotional dependence that she performed live in The 8/9.
Charles also co-signed the title The Wrong Place d’Hooverphonic who will represent Belgium at Eurovision on May 22 in Rotterdam.

Huge publicity for his EP in New York
The career of Charles seems to be on the right track. After his victory in The Voice Belgique, the Belgian artist has seen his face appear for a few days… in Times Square.
“I was lucky enough to be chosen by Spotify for a new playlist called Equal, which advocates gender equality. There are plenty of female artists in each country who are featured in it and I was honored for Belgium. The promo was on the Times Square Billboard, something sick, I can’t believe it “ exclaims the singer.

A dream exhibition for this young singer-songwriter who has just released her first EP in which she confides in her life. All the songs are also autobiographical but Charles does not exclude being able to sing the texts written by other people. “I love to co-write with people, but I need my personal touch, my stories. After that I don’t know if everything will be autobiographical, I don’t think so because I’m 20 years old and haven’t a huge experience “ she declares.

His song for Eurovision
Charles can enjoy exposure on the American continent but also in Europe thanks to Eurovision. However, she will not perform in the competition but took place in the choirs for the song of Switzerland and co-wrote the title which will be defended by Hooverphonic for Belgium, The Wrong Place.
She explains how this song was nominated for Eurovision Song Contest: “I worked with Alex Callier, the leader ofHooverphonic to write and compose together, see how it was going to turn out. In the end, we wrote two songs that will be on the new album including The Wrong Place and If You Really Know Me. We did these songs and then Alex called me and said, ‘Can I have the songs for Hooverphonic because I’m too much of a fan. I said yes of course and later he called me again to ask if he could take The Wrong Place for Eurovision “.
Charles is happy with this situation and particularly appreciates “to have one of his titles but not to be the character in front of the audience, to be part of something without having the pressure”.

Un live planant de “Without You”
It is therefore without pressure that Charles gives us a live performance of his single. Without You, a totally captivating title. Sung in piano-voice, accompanied by its keyboardist Samuel, this song about emotional dependence dazzled the chroniclers of the 8/9 thanks to its dark, melancholy and hovering atmosphere, the low voice and the trailing, grainy and veiled timbre of the young author-composer-performer.
The former winner of The Voice Belgique will it succeed in attracting international attention? In Belgium, the musical future already seems impossible Without You Charles.
