Charles Melton is in talks to join the cast of a new A24 war film, sources told the newspaper The Hollywood Reporter.
The film comes from the directors Alex Garland y Ray Mendoza, who will direct the film from a script they co-wrote. Mendoza served as a military supervisor in Civil War from Garland, which A24 will be released in theaters on April 12.
Producers on the new project include DNA’s Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich, along with Peter Rice. A24 is handling the world premiere of the film.
Melton, known for his role on The CW’s Riverdale, received widespread praise for his performance in Todd Haynes’ 2023 film, Secrets of a scandal. Melton recently won awards as a supporting actor at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards and at the Gotham Awards for the film in which he stars alongside Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman.

The actor’s other credits include the films The sun is also a star, Bad Boys for Life y The secret refugein addition to appearing in the television series Poker Face y The crazy history of the world, part 2.
Civil War, which tells the story of a second civil war that divides the nation, stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Jesse Plemons and Nick Offerman. The filmmaker previously directed the titles Men, Annihilation y Ex Machina.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news last month that Garland was writing the sequel to 28 days later titled 28 years later which Danny Boyle will direct. Garland wrote the script for the original zombie movie that Fox Searchlight released in 2003. @mundiario
