Martinet addressed this via his personal Twitter (X).
Charles Martinet made his Mario debut in 1996’s Super Mario 64, and has been playing the role ever since. He also voiced additional characters Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, as well as Giuseppe in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
