According to Leclerc, the starting field, perhaps with the exception of Red Bull, is very balanced in Barcelona. However, we will know more about Ferrari’s true form tomorrow.
Charles Leclerc (8./6.)
Ferrari is not having the best season yet. After six races, he has only one podium finish – Leclerc’s third place in Azerbaijan. Will anything change in Spain?
“We have had an interesting day. We tried a lot of new parts and did a different program with both cars. It was very productive, we tested everything we planned. It is true, however, that it is not possible to estimate well enough how we stand compared to the competition.
We will continue to work and try to improve. Tomorrow we would like to be more in tune with the car and then we will see how we are actually doing. However, it can be read from today that while Red Bull has the upper hand, the rest of the field is very balanced,” Leclerc thinks.
Carlos Sainz (9./7.)
Sainz, like Alonso, enjoyed the drive on his home track. Like Leclerc, he was satisfied with the fulfillment of Friday’s program.
“Today we were busy, we tried a lot of new things and constantly adapted to the changes in the setup, we analyzed the differences between the individual components and the changes in behavior between the two sessions.
We also deployed all three compounds. In short, it was a day full of preparations. Thank you to everyone in the stands, it was great to see so many people already on Friday,” said a delighted Sainz.
