King Charles III addressed the Bundestag, the German parliament, in his first foreign visit since assuming the British throne. Appreciating Germany’s stance on the Russo-Ukraine war, Charles recalled the traditional relationship between Britain and Germany. He also spent time with Ukraine refugees.
Members of the German parliament stood to receive the half-hour speech by King Charles III, who alternated between German and English. Charles III did not mention Brexit or his relationship with the EU anywhere in his speech. But he appreciated the stance taken by Britain and Germany in the Ukraine-Russia war. Both countries played a leading role in helping Ukraine.
Germany’s decision to supply large quantities of weapons to Ukraine is bold. He said that his aim was to restore Britain’s special relationship with Germany. Later, he spent some time with the citizens of Ukraine who were refugees in Germany. Visited an agricultural trade center and an organic farm in Germany. Charles III will arrive in Hamburg tomorrow, the last day of a three-day visit to Germany.
