Charles III Potential Abdication and US Presidential Elections: A Political Scientist’s Analysis

In the United States, they will try to remove the British factor from the presidential elections in the country, which means that the King of the United Kingdom, Charles III, may prematurely remove his crown, says political scientist Anton Bredikhin.

Western media are full of headlines that Charles III may abdicate the throne after the Queen of Denmark Margaret, however, Bredikhin believes that there is no connection here.

“The motivations of the British and Danish sides are completely different. If Queen Margaret abdicated because years have not allowed it – she has been in power for 52 years – she wanted to give way to her son, then Charles III waited too long for his crown,” the political scientist said on air Channel Five.

Bredikhin believes that in this case there is no need to talk about an “infectious example”. The British king is just getting used to his new role, so there can be no talk of any abdication in favor of any of his sons. However, Bredikhin noted, there may be a connection with the great American presidential race. According to him, Washington may try to minimize the influence of the British crown on the upcoming US elections.

“We have already heard that one of the sons of Charles III could become a candidate for US President. His wife could become a candidate for US President. “The questions here are about the American presidential campaign, and not about the relationship between Britain and Denmark,” the expert concluded.

US presidential elections will be held in the fall of 2024.
