From October 21 to 26, Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, visited Australia. The last day of engagements of the King of England in Sydney was marked by a visit to National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) or National Center for Indigenous Excellence. He also attended Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance performances. On his arrival at NCIE in Sydney, King Charles was greeted by Allan Murray, an elder from the local Aboriginal Land Council. Referring to Ms Thorpe’s provocative speech, Allan Murray said: “Welcome to our country”. And to add: “We have stories to tell, and I think you got a glimpse of that yesterday in Canberra. But our history remains unchanged, and we still have a long way to go to achieve our goal : our sovereignty. Welcome to Gadigal land.”
