Charles De Ketelaere in first interview: “I just wanted to come to Milan” | Serie A

After his medical tests yesterday, Charles De Ketelaere also took the time to address the club channels.

“I always dreamed of becoming a footballer, but I never thought that I would end up at a club like AC Milan,” he said in an interview.

“I am very proud that I am now a player of this club,” says the West Fleming.

“Ricky (Massara, sports director) and Paolo (Maldini, technical director) told me that they were determined to bring me to this club. My agents have been in contact with them since the beginning of this year.”

“Obviously, when the transfer market opens, it’s busy. I had conversations with the board and the coach. I just wanted to come to AC Milan. It took some time, but I’m happy to be here.”

At AC Milan, Charles De Ketelaere, who now has eight caps with the Red Devils, will share the dressing room with compatriots Alexis Saelemaekers and Divock Origi, who came over from Liverpool this summer.

“I heard from Alexis at the national team what kind of club this is. I only heard good things. I have not yet spoken with Divock.”

Last season, AC Milan crowned themselves champions for the first time in eleven years.

“It’s fantastic to join a team that just won the Scudetto. I promise to give everything in every match I play. I hope we will win trophies,” said De Ketelaere, who is aware of the glorious past of the Serie A club.

“AC Milan has had so many fantastic players, such as Ronaldinho, Paolo Maldini, Kaka and the Dutch Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten.”

De Ketelaere will play with the Milanese with number 90, just like with Club Brugge.

“I’ve been wearing that song since I was a kid. I played well with it and I wanted to continue with that song,” De Ketelaere concludes.
