Last month it was already announced that De Ketelaere, like Rennes winger Jeremy Doku, was on the long list of 40 names. Now De Ketelaere is also on the list of 20 finalists, Doku drops out.
De Ketelaere broke through two seasons ago in the first team of Club Brugge. The versatile attacker quickly became a trendsetter in Jan Breydel and already shone in the Champions League. Earlier this month he also won his first cap with the Red Devils, which he immediately crowned with a goal.
In addition to De Ketelaere, there are many other toppers on the list, including top favorite Pedri (Barcelona), Jude Bellingham (Dortmund), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich) or Florian Wirtz (Leverkusen).
The Golden Boy has been awarded since 2003. Last year Dortmund sniper Erling Haaland won the prize. For the time being, there is no Belgian winner on the honors list.
