Charles Cyphers, actor in the ‘Halloween’ horror series, dies

Actor Charles Cyphers, known for his role as the sheriff Leigh Brackett in the horror saga Halloweenhas died in Tucson, in the state of Arizona, at the age of 85, reported Variety.

The actor died last Sunday after suffering “a brief illness,” his representative Chris Roe confirmed to the specialized media.

“Charles was a lovely and sensitive man,” Roe said in a statement released by Variety.

Cyphers first played the sheriff Brackett a la 1978 John Carpenter horror film Halloweenstarring Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie in her film debut.

He reprised his role in the 1981 sequel Halloween II and in Halloween Kills of 2021, according to the specialized media.

The actor began his career precisely with Carpenter in the action film shot in 1976 Assault on District 13 where he worked with Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne and Gabriel Byrne.
