Charles and Camilla will celebrate the 19th anniversary of their engagement in February.
The then Prince Charles waited for thirty long years to marry the woman he loved all his life.
On the day Buckingham Palace announced their engagement, the couple held a banquet at Windsor Castle. That evening, Camilla shone in front of photographers’ cameras in a floor-length pink evening dress with a V-neckline at the neckline. The outfit was elegant, but there was a noticeable stain on the hem. However, it in no way overshadowed the evening image of the future queen.
Eight years after the death of his first wife Diana, Prince Charles was still able to legalize his relationship with the woman he had always truly loved – Camilla.
In the year of the Platinum Jubilee of her reign, Queen Elizabeth II expressed her will that Charles’s wife become Queen Consort when her husband’s turn comes to sit on the throne.
