In cooperation with the newspaper Hessen Toplum, the Foreigners’ Advisory Board Langen presents “The Better Half”, a comedy in three acts in Hessian dialect.

The play is performed by the traditional Elmar Theater Club in Offenbach, which was founded in 1911, was awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Offenbach in 2010 and was included in the German UNESCO list of “Intangible Cultural Heritage – Regional Diversity of Dialect Theater in Germany” in 2017.

The actors perform without a fee and the proceeds of the performance go to the fundraising campaign of the city of Langen in favor of an aid project for its Turkish sister city Tarsus, which is experiencing a massive influx of people from the earthquake area who have become homeless after the devastating earthquake.
A solidarity contribution should be made to this end.

The chairman of the Langen Foreigners’ Advisory Board, Mehmet Canbolat, calls on the people of Langen to support their sister city Tarsus and to see the play.

Donations to the City of Langen account are of course also welcome: IBAN DE62 5059 2200 0000 1508 00 at the VR Bank Dreieich-Offenbach, purpose “Erdbebenhilfe Tarsus”.

Three men in a row have been married to the same woman and this experience was so formative that they decided never to marry again. They meet to celebrate that the last of the three got divorced a year before. As they bask in their bachelorhood, a matchmaker introduces herself. She is looking for husbands for the three daughters of a man who has just remarried and whose daughters do not get along with their new mother. The group of men hesitates a bit, but in the end they want to try it again. Initially, getting to know each other developed according to plan. The gentlemen make a fabulous impression and one is quickly sure that a triple wedding is soon to come. But suddenly the tide turns and all gentlemen want to retreat after all…

The turbulent comedy in Hessian dialect takes place on March 26th at 5 p.m. in the New Town Hall Langen, Südliche Ringstraße 77, Langen. Tickets for the price of 20 euros with free choice of seat are available on 06103 203455 and kartenvorverkauf@langen.de. Information at 0170-3873518.
