Charity marathon “Give five!” On the fourth day, Jurģis Briedis, an expert on environmental accessibility in the association of disabled people and their friends “Apeirons”, visited the glass studio. He mentioned that the museum “Riga Stock Exchange” is a good example of how to create an accessible environment for people with disabilities: “There is accessibility, by building an elevator and at the same time not damaging the historical aura. Rundāle Castle is also quite accessible, there is always a group of people in a wheelchair. ”
From time to time, the DJs of the glass studio contact the donors. Today, one of them was Eliza, who herself has a visual impairment. She specifically addressed employers: “I invite all existing and future entrepreneurs: if you have a person with a disability to come to a job interview, do not be afraid to ask what is needed to do the job, do not be afraid to adapt to the environment.
We, too, want to be socially active and do not want to live our lives on state benefits alone. We also want to prove ourselves. “
Charity Marathon “Give Five!” Edgars Vorslovs, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Association of the Deaf, also visited the studio. However, he suggested how to communicate more effectively with a person with a hearing impairment:
“When meeting a deaf person, don’t be afraid to communicate. Don’t shout out loud. Look for a compromise. Offer to text or look for another form of communication. Deaf people have the experience to adapt to anyone else. The key is attitude and hospitality.”
On the fourth day of the marathon, several musicians visited the glass studio. In the first half of the day, they were musician Jānis Šipkēvics, singer Marta, the group “Other Boys”, singer Aminata and Estonian artist Noep.
